Job Description

The purpose of the Construction Project Manager position is to assist management in establishing and coordinating client relationships for Title III, field construction administration and/or design opportunities by providing onsite field support, construction documentation, growing client contacts and provide real time information on client satisfaction.  This position will be part of the Facilities, Infrastructure and Engineering’s division serving Federal and commercial clients.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Working under no or minimal supervision, capable of independently evaluating the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to meet project goals.
• Applies standard construction principles to complete tasks.
• Exhibits high level of working knowledge of project management and construction techniques and solutions.
• Works within prescribed budgets and schedules for self and/or projects.
• Assists in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction administration.
• Assists in determining scope of project work.
• Responsible for collecting field information and resolving field problems.
• Participates in conferences with client to establish project objectives and resolve design and/or field problems.
• Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines.
• Creates and maintains updated files of current jobs within the group including shop drawings, and other drawings.
• May lead conferences/meetings with client to establish project objectives and resolve all levels of design/construction problems.
• May direct work efforts of lower designers and drafters.
• Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Position requires Bachelor Degree in an accepted engineering discipline or Architectural Engineering and typically requires 15+ years of previous project management, engineering or architecture experience.  Previous project work experience may be substituted for education requirements. 
• Must have initiative, good organizational skills, be able to multi-task, and accept responsibility.
• Must have excellent presentation, written, verbal, and graphics communication skills.

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
