ETAS was formed and dedicated to support the Department of Energy (DOE) Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) with technical and management services contributing to the safe and cost-effective implementation of the “One PPPO” mission.

Job Description

The Information Technology Director shall serve as the contractor IT Manager and provide IT contractor management and oversight for all related activities to support the PPPO Federal IT infrastructure. The Information Technology Manager will maintain reliability and functionality of the PPPO systems along with coordinating with the Federal IT specialists to ensure the PPPO Strategic plan is aligned with DOE EM and the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) goals and activities.


The IT Manager will oversee the Oversight and Operations teams for both Cyber Security and IT Systems. The IT Manager is responsible for leading the technical and operational challenges to support the One-PPPO mission, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented and maintained to reduce the technical debt across all of PPPO. Provide leadership and vision to lead change to improve the quality of IT systems delivered and supported. Ensure full life-cycle management activities are completed to maintain licenses, warranties, system refresh, application support, budget formulation and tracking, training, maintenance, procedures, and policies enforced to ensure minimal disruption of services.


The IT Manager provides the skills/experience/ability needed to lead the organization forward leveraging DOE knowledge, industry trends, cyber awareness, and programmatic requirements to ensure secure and robust operations. Interact with IT vendors, external suppliers, and other contractual partners to ensure delivery of competitive service level agreements. Deliver presentations and facilitate meetings while adapting communication to varying audiences. Participate in the evaluation of new tools, platforms and technologies and articulate the business case for investments. Monitor and introduce trends, new and emerging technologies, processes, and best practices for PPPO. Manage a portfolio of IT investments, including delivering and enhancing core systems; driving productivity, efficiency and service.


Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology and 10 years’ experience or 15 years’ experience in Information Technology Operations or Management is needed.  Must have the ability to manage and lead staff in all IT functions including daily operational needs, project planning, technology updates and management briefings.

Must have an understanding and knowledge of Microsoft, VMware, Storage, NIST, FISMA and Cisco technologies.

Experience in managing and overseeing IT projects, operations and cyber security activities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISACA Certification
  • ITIL Certification
  • PMP Certification
