Job Description

Support for the PPPO Information Security Specialist (PPPO Classification Officer (CO)) and ongoing Cyber efforts requiring additional contractor support.

Assists with reviews and maintains files of CO reviews for public affairs release.

Provide parallel security support of the ongoing PPPO classified network project (TACLANE, network encryption).

Maintain the classification program for all PPPO sites to ensure the identification of classified information through the accurate and accountable application of classification standards.

Assist the PPPO CO with evaluating impacts of any new or revised classification guidance issued by the Office of Classification upon existing classification guidance developed by the Field Office.

Assist the CO with establishing local classification guidance to assist ongoing D&D efforts.

Assist with all evaluations, self-assessments, and classification decision reviews.

Aid the CO with developing and implementing classification training for appointed Derivative Classifiers. 

Assist the CO with compiling statistics concerning the field element classification program to include all classification decision reviews of all site DCs.

Develop and maintain a TSCM plan/addendum that meets both DOE requirements perform COMSEC equipment distribution, installation, programing, inventory and COMSEC program support for the Lexington.

Establish the PPPO TEMPEST program and support needs across all sites.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a minimum of five years of DOE related Security Programs experience or fifteen years direct working experience in DOE Safeguards and Security programs with emphasis in the Technical Security program.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to perform DOE Safeguards and Security tasks and/or responsibilities related to Program Planning and Management, e.g., Planning and Procedures; Physical Protection, Information Security, Personnel Security; Foreign Visits and Assignments and Nuclear Materials Control and Accountability.
  • Experience with contractor program oversight and contract execution and related tasks
  • Experience with performing DOE Assessments, Survey’s, Corrective Action Plans and Survey & Comprehensive Self-Assessment Report development.
  •   Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  •   Effective oral and written communication skills.
  •   Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  •   Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables  and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel.


    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in S&S issues in a D&D environment
  • Classification experience/awareness
  • SSIMS operator
  • NTC S&S related training
