Job Description:

Specific assignments may include the design and specification of fire suppression systems, fire detection, alarm systems and equipment, and of firewalls and barrier systems (including penetration seals, fire doors, and fire and smoke dampers).

Design tasks may include, but not limited to, the preparation of hydraulic calculations, sprinkler system design drawings, Fire Hazards Analysis (FHA), fire modeling calculations, and test plans.

Work performed shall comply with applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, the Standard Building Code, and Department of Energy (DOE) Orders and Standard.

Candidate will be creating and designing mechanical engineering drawings for plumbing, piping, and will assure that all mechanical and piping design project work is in compliance with industry mechanical, pressure vessel, and piping codes and standards.  Candidate will provide mechanical/piping engineering design expertise to the project engineering group and operations as well as provide engineering support to assure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Candidate will report to the Director of Engineering at Pro2Serve’s corporate design center.

 

Job Requirements:

To qualify for this position, candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering, or a related Engineering field.A Masters Degree in Fire Protection is preferred.
  • 15 years plus experience or higher in Fire Protection Engineering.
  • Specific assignments may include the design and specification of fire suppression systems, fire detection, alarm systems and equipment, and of firewalls and barrier systems (including penetration seals, fire doors, and fire and smoke dampers).
  • Must have experience with design tasks that may include, but not limited to, the preparation of hydraulic calculations, sprinkler system design drawings, Fire Hazards Analysis (FHA), fire modeling calculations, and test plans.
  • Must have working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, the Standard Building Code, and Department of Energy (DOE) Orders and Standard.
  • P.E. License preferred
  • AutoCAD 2002-2004, Microstation, CAD Revit, or BIM experience is a plus.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen per government contracts.

 

Federal Government Clearance Required:

Must be able to obtain a U.S.Clearance
