Job Description

Under the supervision of the ETAS Lead NDA Engineer, performs Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) job functions as assigned. Typical job responsibilities: perform, complete and properly document assigned NDA activities in accordance with all applicable requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned by the ETAS Lead NDA Engineer:

  • Perform and document oversight observations and walkdowns of contractor NDA measurement and Inventory Management activities
  • Review and comment on Contractor deliverables including NDA measurement reports, NDA methods and technical basis documents, performance demonstration test reports, and database reports from the Contractor DAVINCCI database.
  • Participate in weekly ETS NS meetings and support DOE-ContractorNDA meetings as assigned
  • May be assigned special projects
  • Provides technical support to DOE assessments, surveillances and audits
  • Assists with the development or review/update of various plans, and NDA oversight procedures as assigned
  • Support preparation of presentations to project senior management
  • Must be capable of understanding and performing NDA methods and processes
  • Perform duties complex in nature
  • Other job related duties as assigned
  • Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner. If supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised and ensures they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits
  • Actively participates in Safety Work Groups


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or a hard science (e.g. chemistry, mathematics, physics) from an accredited college or university
  • Seven or more years’ experience or advanced degree with 5 years’ experience in NDA
  • Current experience and working knowledge of gamma and neutron NDA methods typically used to measure uranium holdup in process systems.
  • Recent working knowledge of modeling codes such as MCNP desired
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Statistics
  • Experience in supporting DOE operations and designs
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel.

  • Gaseous diffusion plant experience
  • NRC experience
  • Nuclear facility experience
  • D&D, D&R, S&M project experience
