Supports all IT and Telecommunications infrastructure and services, including maintenance and help desk, as required by the Moab UMTRA Project for all project sites and office locations and contractor and Department of Energy (DOE) personnel.


Job Description

Perform Help Desk support in person, by phone, and remote connection, on multiple software platforms and applications.

Perform procurement activities including specification and pricing research, quote obtainment, and purchase requisition preparation.

Assist with office and site network and telecommunications wiring, hardware and software specifications and procurement, configuration, moves, setups, server hardware support, share data management, all aspects of computer, printer and server maintenance and repair.

Assist with Active Directory, Exchange, and other server-based functions including: creation of user accounts, assist with creation and maintenance of Active Directory Operational Units, creation of e-mail accounts, distribution groups, deployment and management of system updates.

Enroll users, maintains system security controls, and monitors user access to the systems.

Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identifies network problems.

Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Assist in the preparation of reports, graphs, and presentations using spreadsheet, graphic software, and/or database applications.

Perform software moves, updates and changes as assigned.

Develop end-user documentation.

Perform issue logging, tracking, analysis, reporting and management. Maintain records on repairs, down time, changes and update.

Train users in the use of technology and systems.

Responsible for the regular upkeep and maintenance of all hardware and software components to provide the highest level of complete system availability to system users as reasonably achievable.

Provide a method and reporting mechanism to measure overall system availability.

Responsible for performing regular upgrades and patching of system hardware and software issued by the manufacturers. Security patches and upgrades identified as critical, immediate, or above by the manufacturer will be applied.

Maintain a log of available patches and upgrades to all components.

Assists with development of a Contingency Plan for the restoration of access in the event of loss of services, equipment or facilities.

Assist with development of an IT Equipment Life Cycle Management Plan and Schedule for all equipment, peripherals and software.

Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Know when to communicate project issues and progress.

Perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of management.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other information technology related field, to include course work in database management systems.
  • Additional years of experience may be proposed in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience using database and software development tools and maintaining IT systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to set objectives, conduct meetings, and clearly communicate.
  • Proven ability to effectively multi-task and successfully work as a part of a team. Competency in most of the technologies and skill sets applicable to this contract. 
  • Current drivers’ license, proof of U.S. citizenship; the ability to obtain and retain a valid government identity badge.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of development software; spreadsheet software and word processing software. Strong Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Windows OS, and Basic programming skills are a plus.
