This position is located in Moab, Utah, which will support and perform a variety of environmental and technical activities which may include air monitoring, ground water monitoring, environmental compliance, and quality assurance of the Moab UMTRA Project. Under direct supervision learns to apply standard discipline principles to perform duties in a variety of fixed facility and field environments. Performs variety of environmental engineering and waste management activities supporting client needs.


Job Description

Seasonal Position:  This is position located at the Department of Energy site in Moab, UT, and supports revegetation activities.

Duties and Responsibilities consist of but are not limited to the following:

  • Transplanting shrubs, trees, and grasses.
  • Control of noxious, invasive weeds through the application of herbicides and pesticides.
  • Sprinkler system maintenance.
  • Routine watering of vegetation.
  • The ability to operate a weed cutter, chain saw, tractor, and motor vehicle.


Job Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or 2 years previous general landscaping experience. Previous additional work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
  • Background in plumbing or sprinkler systems and knowledge of local plant species is preferred.
  • Current driver’s license; Proof of U.S. Citizenship or approved to work within the United States; the ability to obtain security clearance enabling access to various government facilities.

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
