Job Description

Work under limited supervision to support the Department of Energy and perform oversight of prime contractors.

Review proposals.

Perform 30/60/90% and CFC design reviews.

Oversee costs, schedules, and budgets of prime contractors and subcontractors.

Review cost estimates, schedule changes, etc.

Prepare and coordinate reports, studies, calculations, etc.

Facilitate conferences or meetings with client to establish project objectives and resolve concerns.

Coordinate work efforts with project personnel.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Job Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree and at least 15 years of relevant, practical experience or, in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, at least 20 years of relevant, practical experience.
  • Experience working with Department of Energy Gaseous Diffusion projects.
  • Able to interact professionally and effectively with coworkers, customers, assessors, and visitors.
  • Able and willing to interact daily with client project managers.
  • Able to read and interpret documents, engineering drawings, etc. 
  • Able to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence in a manner that is accurate, concise, and grammatically correct.
  • Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Able to perform accurate technical calculations.
  • Able to define issues, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions that contain abstract and concrete variables.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple concurrent tasks, to prioritize, and to be flexible.
  • Must embrace the importance of nuclear safety culture, quality, and Conduct of Operations.
  • Must be self-motivated to lead, coordinate, and perform assignments with little supervision.

 

Desired experience

Project Management Professional certification-PMP

Advanced Degree MS, MA, MBA desirable

Environmental regulatory experience

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
