Professional Project Services Inc. has upcoming opportunity for Project Controls Engineer-Senior (Direct Hire) position at our offices in Aiken, SC.  The position will support the Department of Energy Savannah River Site Nuclear Materials Programs Division.  The work requires the ability to serve as a Systems Planner responsible for assisting NMPD Director with independent review of contractor plans and the development of internal plans designed to materialize the NM facilitates missions H-Canyon, HB-Line, K and L Areas.  Please submit resumes via the web page link below.

Provide high level of skilled technical/accounting, project analysis and program management to ensure budget control, accurate and timely contractor payments, and document review and control. Work with the accounting, budgeting services, purchasing, administrative services, and program management team. Provide routine and specialized financial reports to various departments.  Advises the NMPD Director/ or designee on numerous matters, including contractual, performance and financial issues. 

 

Job Description

  • Works under extremely limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of DOE 413.3B
  • Conduct independent special analysis as directed by the NMPD Director/ or designee to establish and maintain the strategic management process for the Nuclear Materials programs.
  • Provide technical expertise during the development, coordination and issuance of Nuclear Materials Strategic Plans provided by site contractors.
  • Conduct meetings, briefings as needed regarding the formulation process used during the development of strategic plans.
  • Support Development for the Lifecycle Estimate for NM programs and budget formulation using the Primavera cost loaded schedule.
  • Perform a detail review contractor estimates provided by the NMPD Director/designee.
  • Develop presentations to support NMPD Director.
  • Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Job Requirements

  • BS Degree in related field and 10+ years related experience in project management / planning / lifecycle systems.  However, 12 years of related work experience may be substituted for education requirements. 
  • Working knowledge and understanding of DOE 413.3B.
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of Primavera P6
  • Must demonstrate advanced strategic thinking abilities and excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a DOE “Q” security clearance.
  • Must possess an excellent command of the English language. 
  • This position requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
